Australia is a nation of abundance and freedom.
Australia is blessed with an abundance of land, natural resources and has a liberal, democratic system of government.
I am grateful to be born into a country which is liberal, constitutional monarchy democracy, where all citizens have rights and freedoms as well as the opportunities to pursue their dreams and build wealth.
For those who wish to migrate to Australia, I consider it my personal mission to help those wanting a better life where there are opportunities, choices and tolerance of differences.
Being a capitalist, laissez-faire but also somewhat socialist economy (Australia has one of the most generous social security systems in the world) gives individuals that call Australia home the opportunity to live in a society which is secular, tolerant of differences in religions, cultures, sexual orientation/identities and ethnicities.
Australia is a multicultural and multiethnic country but we subscribe to the same set of a values. This monoculturalism is manifested in our Australia values statement which supports the ideology of a “fair go” and equality and equity in dealings with each other.
Human Rights
Australians enjoy the right to self determination, private ownership (which allows for wealth creation and intergenerational wealth to be created and passed along from generation to generation), one of the highest average salaries (we are ranked 8th in terms of average salaries in the world) with relatively low levels of inequality (roughly 0.4) as the Gini coefficient.
Australia has high levels of social mobility. In fact, my parents arrived in Australia in 1970s with nothing to their name and have been able to build wealth and be in the top 5% of wealth in Australia. Most millionaires in Australia have between 1 to 10 million dollars (over 95%) net worth.
Australians enjoy access to one of the best healthcare, education as well as human rights enshrined in our constitution. These rights include the right to freedom of speech (not expressly stated but implied), public assembly (right to protest) and representative democracy (right to determine our government) through selection of our politicians in public office.
It is no surprise that each year, approximately 100,000 people migrate to Australia. Most are offshore applications and there is a mixture of student, skilled, family and protection (refugee) visas.
Whilst by no means is Australia perfect country, because of our system of government and legal system, common law, the rule of law and separation of powers, Australia is one of safest countries in the world. Australia also has one of the fairest systems of government as we have checks and balances on public power and we have avenues of redress in the event of corruption or unfair dealing.
